DPAC Chair Vik Khanna Resigns

UPDATE: Vik Khanna’s response to accusations added. [10:32 PM]

The Vancouver District Parent Advisory Council Chair Vik Khanna resigned Wednesday night, after leading DPAC since June last year.

Khanna announced his resignation in a post on Twitter.

“My journey with @VanDPAC concludes. Fueled by a drive to find solutions for integrating housing & school planning, I inadvertently neglected crucial matters alongside my executive team.” He wrote.

“I graciously resign and am open to new opportunities.” The statement concluded.

In a message to The Griffins’ Nest, Khanna stated that he had been accused of numerous errors of leadership, such as “creating chaos” due to a lack of organization, an unwillingness to work as a part of a team, and responding to concerns raised in a “patronizing” matter. He responded through a ChatGPT generated response.

“There is so much work for volunteer parents that often you have to move things forward at an entrepreneurial speed focusing on solutions. This QEA issue and our decision to end our DPAC Extracurricular Choral Program at the end of this year had me move things too fast.” Khanna told The Nest.

Previously serving as Vice-Chair, Khanna had served as a DPAC executive since 2020.
