  • Adelaide Guan (12) | Editor-in-Chief

The Nest has been an incredible learning curve for Addie since she started as a reporter in grade eight. Now, four years (and many interviews and edits) later, she is serving her second year as Editor-in-Chief. She oversees all aspects of the paper: from planning to printing. She's incredibly excited to spend her final year at Hamber in this role, and hopes to spark an interest in journalism in other students. Addie can usually be found rage-quitting InDesign in the (not) yearbook room, studying the consumer psychology of grade eights for the student shop, or playing soccer or field hockey. Her most favourite part of The Griffins’ Nest is, and always will be, the donuts on early distribution mornings.

  • Sara Maya Budhiraja (12) | Managing Editor

Since eighth grade, Sara Maya has been a proud reporter for The Griffins’ Nest. Being in the Nest has been one of the best experiences Sara’s had in high school. This year she is proud to be the Managing Editor of the Nest, and take on this important role in guiding reporters and facilitating important work on the board itself. Sara’s favourite part of the Nest is watching new reporters explore their interests and expand their existing writing skills. Outside of the Editorial Board, she can be found making too many playlists and hanging out with her cat. You can find her in the hallways running to class or on the Canada Line, because she does her best thinking on the train. She is super excited for her last year with Nest!

  • Natalie Kosar (11) | Design & Layout Editor

Natalie has been reporting for the Nest since eighth grade, and is excited to step into the role of Design and Layout Editor. As she enters her first year on the Editorial Board, Natalie is excited to apply her creative skills to enhance the visual appeal of the publication. Her passion for design extends to her work on the school's yearbook, where she is one of the Student Life Editors. Natalie's favourite part of The Nest is collaborating with fellow reporters and getting to talk to members of the community. Outside of her journalistic pursuits, she enjoys browsing Pinterest for graphic design inspiration, spending time in nature, and eating obscene amounts of popcorn. She looks forward to having you all see her designs in print!

  • Andre Chen (12) | Executive Editor

Having served as a reporter for the Griffins’ Nest for two years, Andre is thrilled to begin his third year as an executive editor. Andre firmly believes in The Nest’s impact ; he enjoys the uncompromising dedication to truth that constitutes its culture. He is excited to sustain these values, and is delighted to work alongside such a talented and devoted group to guide both new returning reporters. Andre is an avid piano player, dog owner, and loves to go on hikes with his family and friends. He is overjoyed to help drive the positive change championed by the Nest, and cannot wait to be informative, impartial, and independent again in his senior year!

  • Suhani Dosanjh (11) | Executive Editor

As Suhani enters her second year as an editor for The Griffins’ Nest, she is most excited to mentor young reporters and potentially spark a love of journalism in them. With great power comes great responsibility, and as an editor, Suhani promises to uphold the high professional and ethical standards of the Nest to the best of her ability. Outside of the Nest, she’s involved in STEM Sorority, Project Poverty, and the girls’ basketball team. Her interests include creative writing, STEM, public speaking, basketball, and, of course, journalism. She looks forward to working with this year’s skilled team of editors to try to produce the best volume of the paper yet!

  • Olivia Gowans Hoar (11) | Executive Editor

Olivia is thrilled to be serving as an Executive Editor in her fourth year with the Nest. Since eighth grade, she has admired the professionalism of the Nest and is grateful to get to work with her fellow editors. Having been a confused young reporter herself, Olivia is looking forward to uplifting and collaborating with the Nest’s emerging journalists. When she isn’t interviewing, researching, or calculating character counts, Olivia is either blasting music in her AirPods or buying overpriced concert tickets. You can usually find her chasing staff and students down the halls for a yearbook interview, or as soon as summer hits, diving into the nearest lake.

  • Zak Tucker (10) | Executive Editor

An avid reporter since Grade 8, Zak is thrilled to join the Editorial Board! Looking back, he can hardly recognize his writing from a mere two years ago, thanks to some amazing editors. Zak aspires to provide the same valuable guidance to new reporters. Favourite part of The Nest? Flipping through its pages and finding an article that reads like it could have appeared in The Globe and Mail. In his spare time, you’ll find Zak reading, acting, travelling, playing piano, practicing competitive trivia, or playing volleyball! He hopes to help bring out the best in every one of our talented reporters and uphold The Nest as Canada’s leading student-led journalism program.
