Suhani Dosanjh (12) | Editor-in-Chief
It’s a dream come true for Suhani to step into the role of Co Editor-in-Chief alongside her editorial partner in crime, Olivia. Suhani has written in every single issue of The Griffins’ Nest since grade 8, fervently covering a range of stories: from VSB mini school cuts to celebrity deaths to global conflicts. She vows to always uphold the journalistic standards that lie at the core of The Nest, whether that means painstakingly fact-checking every 1000 word article or burying her inner biases to portray every side of the story. On any random day, you can find her chasing a runner’s high on the UBC trails, binge-watching her latest favourite show, or powering through all-nighters with a hot caramel macchiato keeping her company.

Olivia Gowans Hoar (12) | Editor-in-Chief
As Olivia enters her last year with The Nest, she is more than thrilled to be stepping into the role of Co Editor-in-Chief alongside Suhani, her journalistic soulmate. Together, they oversee every part of the paper: from planning to printing. She can still remember the first general assembly she ever attended and the excitement she felt being a part of such an impressive publication. After four years, The Nest has become less of an organization and more of a makeshift family, and Olivia is incredibly grateful for every single member. Outside of her love for journalism, she enjoys exploring nature, spending too much money on concert tickets, and searching for the best brunch in Vancouver.

Zak Tucker (11) | Managing Editor
An avid reporter since grade 8, Zak is thrilled to adopt the role of Managing Editor. He sees great promise in The Nest’s remarkable team and its inspiring history, but strives to always reach higher. In his new role, Zak aims to further professionalize our organization, provide expanded resources and training to reporters, and build a stronger community within our publication. After all the Stage 4 edits have been checked off, you’ll usually find Zak reading, biking, or traveling the world (or roaming the halls searching for yearbook interviewees)!

Natalie Kosar (12) | Design & Layout Editor
Natalie is serving her second year as Design & Layout Editor, but is in her fifth year as part of The Griffins’ Nest! In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the visual creation of both the print publications and social media content. As Editor-In-Chief of the yearbook, she combines her passion for design with her love of storytelling. Creative expression fuels much of her work, whether through design, architecture, or film production — fields that inspire her to think about how spaces and stories impact people’s lives. She is also passionate about social issues and staying connected to current events. Natalie is eager to continue her work alongside the hard-working reporters and editors at the heart of The Nest.
-
Trisha Tan (11) | Junior Design & Layout Editor
As someone with an immense interest in journalism and design, Trisha is excited to join the editorial board as the Junior Design and Layout Editor. She is looking forward to learning more about journalism and design from Natalie, the Design and Layout Editor. Trisha’s passion for design is also found in her work in the school’s yearbook, where she is the Student Life Editor. You can also catch Trisha around the school giving out free breakfast on the first Wednesday of every month for Compassion Club, or selling snacks at the student store. In her spare time, Trisha enjoys dancing, listening to music, and trying new foods. She looks forward to sharing her work with everyone in print!
-
Nara Harvey (10) | Executive Editor
Nara is thrilled to begin her first year as an editor with the incredible team at The Griffins’ Nest. She enjoys writing about global issues and the environment, and loves meeting people through interviews. Through her writing, Nara hopes to spark curiosity in readers and inspire them to view the world differently. Beyond journalism, Nara enjoys photography, badminton, and being outdoors. She is looking forward to guiding reporters as they find their voices and turn their ideas into impactful stories.

Salena Sharma (12) | Executive Editor
Salena has been a reporter for The Nest since grade 8 and is excited to be an executive editor in her last year with the newspaper. With this responsibility, she plans on helping young journalists — who are just as confused as she was when she first started out — and inspiring them to take on bigger roles in the journalism community. Outside of The Nest, you can basically find Salena everywhere as she’s involved with Hamber’s Student Council, STEM Sorority, various science competitions, or you can just find her stressing about the Canucks. She is really hopeful for this year and is elated to work with young journalists to produce the best volume yet for The Nest!

Evîn Jaaf (11) | Executive Editor
Evîn is very excited to begin her fourth year with The Griffins’ Nest as an editor! After joining the Nest in eighth grade and finding a passion for journalism, she is incredibly grateful to have had amazing editors guiding her to where she is today. Evîn looks forward to working with new reporters, hoping to help other young journalists find their spark. Outside The Nest, Evîn can be found around the school with her camera taking photos of every sports game for the yearbook, playing one of her three sports, or out in the woods hiking. She can’t wait to make the most out of her first year on the editorial board!
