  • Adelaide Guan (11) | Editor-in-Chief

The Nest has been an incredible learning curve for Addie since she started as a reporter in grade eight. Now, three years (and many interviews, articles, and edits) later, she is serving as Editor-in-Chief of Volume 13. As EIC, Addie oversees all aspects of the paper: from planning to printing. She is most excited to spark an interest in journalism in other students and to uphold The Nest’s journalism standards. Addie can usually be found somewhere on Hamber grounds, such as on the field hockey turf or in the Yearbook room. Her favourite part of The Griffins’ Nest is, and always will be, the donuts on distribution morning.

  • Katja Radovic-Jonsson (12) | Managing Editor

Serving as this year’s Managing Editor, this is Katja’s fifth year with the Nest and her second year on the Editorial Board. She is incredibly excited to share her love for local investigative journalism and the thrill of distribution days with her team. Outside the newspaper, Katja is a part of Senior Girls Basketball and STEM Sorority, and her passions include technology, piano, skiing, cooking, and travelling. She looks forward to working with this year’s team of reporters and editors to create what will hopefully be the best volume of the Nest to date!

  • Izzy Jang (12) | Design & Layout Editor

In her second year with The Griffins' Nest, Izzy is delighted to be working with the skilled members of the newspaper. She's excited to share her passion for journalism with reporters, helping them grow as students and advocates. As the Design & Layout Editor for the Nest, she designs the print publication of the newspaper. Izzy's favourite part of the Nest is meeting new people through reporting and the excitement of distribution day. Some of Izzy's interests are graphic design, songwriting, music, and travelling. Izzy is thrilled to make an impact in her community through her reporting for the Nest.

  • Sara Maya Budhiraja (11) | Executive Editor

Since eighth grade, Sara Maya has been a proud reporter for The Griffins’ Nest. Being in the Nest has been one of the best experiences Sara’s had in high school, and she encourages younger students to pursue their passion for writing through the Nest. Sara’s favourite part of the Nest are her fellow reporters and all the opportunities they can pursue together. Outside of the Editorial Board, she enjoys reading, making too many playlists and hanging out with her cat. You can find her in the yearbook room or on the Canada Line, because she does her best thinking on the train. She is super excited for her first year on the Editorial Board of the Nest!

  • Suhani Dosanjh (10) | Executive Editor

Suhani is overjoyed to be serving her first year as an editor for the Griffin’s Nest. She first became a part of the Nest two years ago as a reporter, where she discovered a deep love for journalism. As an editor, she hopes to inspire that same love of journalism in other young reporters. Her other interests include reading, writing, listening to music, playing basketball, and binging her favourite TV shows. With great power comes great responsibility, and Suhani promises to uphold the high profesional and ethical standards of the Nest to her utmost ability. Suhani is thrilled to be able to work with such amazing people and looks forward to the year ahead!

  • Gina Hallensleben (12) | Executive Editor

As Gina goes into her final year at Hamber, she is beyond excited to be an Executive Editor. She has always admired The Nest’s commitment to upholding journalistic standards and informing the school community and is proud to contribute to this work. Aside from Gina’s passion for journalism, she enjoys spending time outdoors, travelling, and learning new things. Gina loves dinosaurs and terrible shark movies, so feel free to talk to her about anything ‘Jurassic Park’ or ‘Sharknado’ related. As a Peer Counsellor, you can find her wearing the purple PC shirt in the halls. She looks forward to learning and growing alongside the exceptional team of editors and reporters at The Nest!

  • Anthony Lu (12) | Executive Editor

As he enters his second year as part of The Griffin's Nest, Anthony is looking forward to working as an Executive Editor with our school newspaper. His favourite part of The Nest is interviewing other students because he gets to learn about their often unique perspectives and opinions. Additionally, as an editor, he will support reporters and help them with their articles from drafting to publication. Anthony's interests include reading, all things STEM, and, of course, journalism. He is excited to make this year another great one for The Nest, as well as to serve the wonderful Hamber community.

  • Max von Dehn (12) | Executive Editor

Max is in his second year as an Executive Editor on The Griffins' Nest Editorial Board and looks forward to continue to maintain the standards and reputation of the paper. As a believer in the possibility of systemic change, Max will continue to help drive improvement in the district and beyond, following the standard already set by The Nest. He joined The Nest in Grade 9 and has improved his journalistic skills since. Max hopes to further help Hamber's student journalists, and protect the rights of journalists in the district. Max's interests include journalism, music, the environment and law.

  • Austin Witter (12) - Executive Editor

Austin is beginning his second year as a Nest member and is thrilled to be taking on the role of an editor. His favourite aspects of the Nest so far are seeing the paper finally appear in physical form on distribution day, as well as being able to reach a wide audience that extends beyond Hamber. He loves diving deep into a subject and writing longer articles that include lots of detail. Other than the Nest, Austin is involved in Reach for the Top and Literature Club. In his spare time, Austin enjoys reading, drinking tea, learning French, and playing piano. He hopes to make this volume of the paper the best one yet!
