2026–2027 Editorial Board

An avid reporter since grade 8, Zak is thrilled to adopt the role of Editor-in-Chief. He sees great promise in The Nest's remarkable team and its inspiring history, but strives to always reach higher. Looking back, he can hardly recognize his writing from a few years ago, thanks to amazing editors. Zak aspires to provide the same valuable guidance to new reporters. He also aims to further professionalize our organization, provide expanded resources and training to reporters, and build a stronger community within our publication. After the Stage 5 edits have been checked off, you'll usually find Zak reading, biking, traveling the world (or roaming the halls searching for yearbook interviewees)!

Evîn is absolutely thrilled to be spending her fifth and final year with The Griffins’ Nest serving as Managing Editor! Since eighth grade, Evîn has been a proud reporter for The Nest, and after serving as an editor, it’s become a highlight of her high school career. Evîn is honoured to take on this important role to support the board, and to remind Hamber of all the fun things about journalism! Evîn’s favourite part of The Nest is getting to help other young journalists find their spark. Outside of The Nest, Evîn can be found with her camera, playing soccer, or out in the woods hiking, all while listening to her perfectly curated playlists. She can’t wait to see what comes out of her last year on the Editorial Board!

In her second year with The Griffins’ Nest, Trisha is excited to serve as Design & Layout Editor! In this role, she designs both the print newspaper and The Nest’s social media content. Trisha also serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of Hamber’s yearbook, and she’s excited to continue pouring her creativity into producing an exceptional publication. You can also find Trisha selling snacks at The Griff, searching for the best coffee or matcha, or jamming out to her favourite tunes. She’s inspired by the hardworking people around her, who provide the motivation that continues to fuel her passion for design. Trisha looks forward to yet another year of sharing her designs with the Hamber community!

Ariel is delighted to start her first year as the Junior Design & Layout Editor with the spectacular Griffins’ Nest. She is filled with curiosity, and she hopes to enlighten readers with a neat and creative finish for every newspaper. Following along with Trisha’s roots as the Student Life Editor, you can also see Ariel’s art designs in the school yearbook! Besides handling visuals, she loves spending time with her pet bunny plus her chaotic friends, and laughing constantly during the badminton season at the school gym. Along with her obsession for boba tea, you can find her every Thursday lunch in Mr. D. Lee’s room, serving tasty tea for her club members. Ariel is stoked to see how each masterpiece comes to life this year!

Nara is thrilled to enter her second year as an executive editor. At the Griffins’ Nest, she has grown to love late-night editorial grinds, early-morning distributions, and all the collaboration in between. She is excited to continue reporting on global and community events, as well as to guide student reporters through the editing process, a responsibility she finds especially rewarding. Outside the newsroom, Nara enjoys spending time outdoors, whether she's out for a run, exploring local hiking trails, or coaching youth soccer. Her curiosity also extends beyond journalism, and she's often experimenting with engineering projects, currently involving robotic sailboats, or getting lost in an excellent book.

Sophie is more than overjoyed to begin working as an editor in her third year with The Griffins’ Nest! She has been reporting passionately for Hamber’s newspaper since 8th grade, and certainly does not plan on stopping. Sophie is incredibly grateful for the opportunities that The Nest has given her, and would love to help aspiring student journalists have the same. She looks forward to helping reporters refine their articles into the best versions they can be. Outside of The Nest, Sophie can be found reading voraciously or sobbing over sappy romcoms (or Computer Science homework). She also loves travelling, and an arsenal of 2000’s movies has fuelled her desire to visit New York City. She couldn’t be more excited to contribute her all to this volume of The Nest!

After three years as a reporter, Leah is excited to be joining The Griffins’ Nest Editorial Board. Since becoming part of The Nest in Grade 8, she’s loved being able to report on stories and contribute to the school community. Leah’s favourite part of The Nest is how it fosters a community of like-minded students with a passion for journalism. She’s looking forward to both helping shape this year’s paper and providing guidance to younger reporters. When she’s not working on articles, you’ll probably find her behind a drum kit, outside exploring, or spending time with friends. She’s excited for another year with The Nest and can’t wait to see the stories, ideas, and memories this year’s team creates together.

Eleanor is thrilled to begin her first year as an editor here at The Griffins’ Nest, she looks forward to working alongside a wonderful team and can't wait to learn from her fellow board members and reporters. Through her past two years spent reporting at The Nest, Eleanor has found a great love for journalism and hopes to spark the same passion in young reporters this coming year. Journalism aside; Eleanor loves to cozy up with a good book, hit the slopes on her snowboard, listen to her favourite artists live (RIP her bank account), or can be found having a great time with friends. Eleanor will continue to put her best foot forward and always strives to uphold The Nest’s journalistic standards.
