On Feb. 1, the 68th annual Grammy Awards ceremony will be held in Los Angeles. The four biggest Grammy Awards— Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist — and the nominations for them feature a vast array of different artists and music genres, some familiar and some completely new to listeners.

Many, like APT by Rosé and Bruno Mars, and WILDFLOWER by Billie Eilish, managed to land multiple nominations. But what songs and artists do Hamberites know? Who do they think deserves to win? The Nest dove in to see what Hamberites think about the upcoming 2026 Grammys.

One popular artist amongst Hamberites was Billie Eilish. Celeste Chow (10) and Zoe Von Dehn (11) both shared that they think “WILDFLOWER” should win Record of the Year.

For Best New Artist, Chow thinks Leon Thomas deserves to win, and Fiona McFarlane (11) said she thought Olivia Dean should win. As well, Ryder Bianco (8) shared that sombr was a top choice for the award.

Chow also commented on the other awards, stating how she thinks “CHROMAKOPIA by Tyler, The Creator should win Album of the Year, and “luther” by Kendrick Lamar and SZA should win Song of the Year.

Kendrick Lamar was popular amongst multiple other students, including Calvin Park (8) and Kayden Newton (8). Additionally, Kasey Antonio (10), Ellie Park (9), and Von Dehn had a similar opinion.

Another Hamberite, Audrey Hales (9), shared that the group KATSEYE was one of her favourite artists from the nominations. Additionally, both Yusraa Zaidi (8) and Kathy Tong (8) believed Sabrina Carpenter should win. Von Dehn had a similar opinion and shared that she liked both Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan. Another Hamberite, Jacob Tran (9), shared his opinion on the list of nominees. He stated that “K-pop Demon Hunters [is] clearly the best there.”

However, a few students thought that the nominee list had a few empty spaces. In Park’s opinion, “Eminem should’ve been nominated, because he has never won before.” Another student, George Ma (8), thought that Kanye West should've been on the list, as he believes that “Kanye West is better” than others on the list.

In Zaidi’s opinion, “Drake should’ve been nominated.” Yang also shared that Cortis – a South Korean boy band – should’ve been nominated for an award. Moreover, Bianca Lawrence (9) and Jules Malkin (9) both thought that Tate McRae deserved to be nominated too, with Lawrence sharing that “even though I'm not a listener of [Tate McRae], I am surprised that she [was] not [nominated].”
