As the food industry has evolved in BC, food delivery service has become a mainstay for restaurants and customers. Recently, three major food delivery platforms have risen above the rest; DoorDash, UberEats, and SkipTheDishes. Each company differs, especially in price and delivery speed. But which one is the best?
SkipTheDishes is the largest food delivery service in Canada. Based in Winnipeg, it is available in all ten provinces, including over 100 cities and their surrounding areas. Their website provides over 16,000 restaurant options nationwide.
Pricing is relatively affordable, with delivery fees ranging from $2 to $5 based on the restaurant. The Skip Rewards program lets you earn points on every order, which allows customers to redeem items and receive discounts.
UberEats, on the other hand, is not as widespread as SkipTheDishes, available in around 30 Canadian cities and many of their surrounding suburban areas. UberEats’ pricing includes a similar delivery fee, which is usually in the $5 range.
Furthermore, UberEats offers a Uber One subscription service, which waives delivery fees and treats customers with a 5 per cent discount off every order over $15. This subscription costs a reasonable $10 per month.
DoorDash is one of the delivery services with the most coverage across Canada and BC. Although not as widely available as SkipTheDishes, DoorDash is currently active in around 50 Canadian cities and their surrounding areas, boasting over 300,000 participating restaurants in North America.
DoorDash also offers a monthly subscription service known as the DashPass. For $10 a month, customers will enjoy zero delivery fees for orders over $15 from eligible restaurants.
With all things considered, which delivery company is the most superior in BC? SkipTheDishes, UberEats, and DoorDash all offer similar pricing models and user experiences.
The selection available on each app depends on the customer’s geographical area. In some parts of BC, SkipTheDishes may have more restaurant choices; in other parts, UberEats or DoorDash could have more — it all depends on what the ordering customer prefers.
