The ability to determine the difference between fact and opinion is a fundamental news literacy skill. Confusion between the two fuels the spread of misinformation and contaminates media comprehension.

It is established law that as students, we enjoy the right to freedom of expression and of the press in Canadian public schools, regardless of our status as minors or our non-commercialized practice of journalism.
