Have you ever wanted to embrace fall by getting cozy with the perfect seasonal drink in hand? Well, lucky for you, I took a tour around Main Street in Vancouver to find the best drinks to buy this autumn. I’ve tried and rated four different drinks, all with a different vibe and from a different coffee shop, to ensure I find something for everybody.
Banana Bread Matcha from Organic Acres at 3603 Main Street 8/10
When I first entered this cafe, the employees were very welcoming and the service was efficient. The banana bread matcha had a very flavourful, accurate banana bread taste — just as the name suggests. However, the matcha was not very strong, as the banana bread syrup overpowered the matcha’s flavour. I think that this was a very refreshing drink, and I recommend it for people who aren't big fans of matcha but still want a subtle taste of it.
Apple Cider From Fog Lifter at 3590 Main Street 6/10
Although this cafe's service was a bit slower, it was nothing out of the ordinary. The apple cider drink had a very fresh apple taste that did not seem artificial at all. The cider was bursting with flavour from all the spices in it. I personally liked this drink, but it wasn't very sweet. Rather, this drink was tart and refreshing, but still very cozy and perfect for the fall season.
Hot Chocolate from Coco et Olive at 3707 Main Street 7/10
This cafe's service was extremely fast, which I liked. The hot chocolate was very creamy and silky, with chocolate-flavoured foam on top. The temperature of this hot chocolate was just right as it didn’t burn my tongue, but also wasn't too cold. Furthermore, the chocolate flavour wasn't sickening, but rather still very flavourful. I recommend this hot chocolate to anyone with a sweet tooth who is looking for a new yummy drink to try.
Lavender Latte From Breka at 4554 Main Street 7.5/10
This lavender latte stood out to me as the taste of ordinary lattes usually has hints of coffee. Yet, in this drink, the taste of coffee was nonexistent. Rather, this lavender latte had a creamy, foamy, milky taste with a lavender aroma. I liked that the lavender wasn't too strong and didn't eventually make me sick of the drink. Instead, the lavender tasted very natural and not at all artificial. I recommend this lavender latte to anybody who doesn't like the taste of coffee, but still wants to drink lattes. This drink is also the way to go for anybody who likes floral flavours.
After careful consideration, the banana bread matcha from Organic Acres is the way to go this fall! The service was fast, and the drink had a very pleasant taste — very true to its name. So if you're looking for the all-time best autumn drink choice, make sure to try the banana bread matcha!
