Welcoming the Winter Sports Season
As the fall sports season came to a close, winter sports teams are warm and ready for the months ahead. Players, managers, and coaches are preparing for tournaments, league games, and city championships, and they are all excited to see what they can accomplish this season.

Hamber’s Table Tennis team is back up and running this year. After a pause, players and coaches are now together and playing once again.

Midtown SNOWdown
It’s uncommon for students to be disappointed by a snow day. After all, who doesn’t love to frolic in the snow? But for Hamber students and staff, this year's snow days weren’t as celebrated because they shortened the school’s most anticipated sporting event, the Midtown Showdown.

Hamber's First Student-Led Sports Network
This year marks the debut of the student-run Griffins Sports Network. The Griffins Sports Network, often referred to as the GSN, features exclusive interviews, highlights, and weekly recaps with Hamber athletes, and is accessible through the Hamber Athletics (@hamberathletics) Instagram account.
Let The Games Begin: Hamber’s Fall Sports Update
It’s been over a month since the school year began, and Hamber athletics have begun Volleyball, soccer, field hockey and aquatics have begun, and Hamber’s athletes have been battling for wins across the city.

Hamber Girls’ Soccer Team Wins City Championships
The Hamber Girls’ Soccer team won the City Championships on May 25. Led by Ms. J. Polukoshko (English), the Soccer team played an undefeated season that culminated in a grueling final match against John Oliver Secondary.
Hamber’s Football Team is Back in the Game
Coached by Mr. B. Gibson (Physical Education), Hamber’s grade 8 football team plans to be the first stage in re-establishing Hamber’s football program, which has been on hiatus since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cheer Club Debuts at Midtown Showdown
Hamber’s cheer team put on their first ever performance at the 12th annual Midtown Showdown. Armed with chic uniforms and enthusiasm, they performed cheers paired with cartwheels and lifts through all of Midtown’s halftime games.
