OPINION | Transit in BC: A Vision of the Future
The year is 2034. Every day, over a million British Columbians take public transit. Metro Vancouver is criss-crossed with quick, frequent transit lines, including the Broadway Subway (2026), three new RapidBus routes (2027), and a SkyTrain extension to Surrey and Langley (2028).

Originally scheduled to be finished in 2025, but delayed to 2026 due to problems with boring machines and poor ground conditions, the Broadway Subway extension is a project that has long been in the works.

Public Transit Throughout the Pandemic
As ridership rates return to pre-COVID levels and higher, TransLink has rolled back measures that were implemented previously while re-shifting focus back on expanding the current network through new projects and improvements to existing infrastructure.
